Adm Indicia working with Suntory Global Spirits Maker’s Mark wanted to modernize its 101 Special Proof carton and replace the previous double laminated construction with a single substrate without losing the impact of its iconic red wax.
Our Approach
- Converted the package to a 28 point FSC certified SBS auto bottom carton.
- Printed on the uncoated side and used clear foil in place of spot gloss so the high sheen details remain crisp on the porous surface.
- Combined clear foil, gold foil, embossing, dull UV and multiple hits of PMS ink to reproduce the signature red wax color.
- Added heavy red interior printing to make it pop once opened.
The Result
The single substrate carton reduces structural complexity while retaining the presence expected from a premium spirits package. Clear foil creates a sharp contrast against the uncoated surface, and the red interior makes opening part of the brand experience. The result is unmistakably Maker’s Mark and efficient for downstream packing.
