The sk*p brand provides good, clean products on a mission to sk*p the plastic and save our planet. As stated on their packaging and website, the problem: 79,994,374,133 (and counting) pieces of plastic packaging from the beauty industry are added to our landfills each year. Using paperboard cartons for their primary and secondary packaging, sk*p products are intended to be good for you and our planet.

Opportunity

sk*p approached us to create packaging for their kits, including their full-size hair products, as part of their holiday strategy. They supplied some initial concepts along with clear objectives for the packaging.

• All packaging must use FSC certified paper and be 100% recyclable since sustainability is the cornerstone of sk*p’s brand premise
• The sets will be offered specifically to big box retailers so the packaging will need to provide optimal shelf presence and be as tamper proof as possible to keep the contents together
• The secondary packaging needed to let the beauty of the gable-top primary packaging shine through

Our Solution

With initial concepts provided, our structural design team worked with the brand to enhance their vision and make it a reality.

The final packaging design is printed on FSC certified PCR mix material to reinforce sk*p’s movement to reduce the amount of plastic in the beauty industry. The packaging is also on-point with their gable-top branding, is portable with an integrated handle, and showcases the primary products through die-cut windows without the use of plastic while withstanding the retail environment.
