Gold Ink is a prestigious organization that recognizes the best in printed materials produced by the printing and packaging industries, and the Gold Ink awards are considered as the “Oscars of the print industry.” There is no greater honor than being the recipient of the Gold Ink awards, as they are bestowed only upon the ultimate best produced in the printing industry that year.
The awards are handed out at an annual gala event. Entrants include creators and producers of printed materials, advertising agencies, paper companies, book and magazine publishers, direct marketing companies, PR firms, and designers. The awards are given to those who have produced the best in commercial printing, including invitations, brochures, annual reports, direct mail pieces, dimensional printing, folders, media kits, posters, and packaging.

The cover design for Vinyl, HBO’s drama series, captured a silver award thanks to its dramatic use of color and textural technique that created a reflection on Richie Finestra’s iconic glasses.
Gold Ink Multimedia Design Award Bronze
Maleficent – for DVD O-Sleeve
The cover for Maleficent, Disney’s story of a vengeful fairy, took the bronze award in the packaging/multimedia category thanks to its unique use of textural and visual print techniques including embossing and foils to create an impressive almost mirror-like design.
Gold Ink Excellence in Spirit Packaging
JohnsByrne was awarded two Pewter Awards at the Gold Ink Gala. With many emerging brands competing in the spirits market, we were thrilled and honored to receive these awards:
Once again, George Clooney’s new brand of tequilas took center stage. Our luxury folding cartons for his three flavors of tequila were created on Press 384—our one-of-a-kind press. With pre-foil and foil stamping, embossing, and debossing, the packaging brings appeal and attraction on both a visual and tactile level. New brands need to stand out to entice customers, and we are proud of our team for creating this award-winning set of folding cartons.
