JohnsByrne, a leading national provider of premium packaging and display solutions, has earned a Judge’s Award in the Paperboard Packaging Council’s (PPC) 2026 Paperboard Packaging Competition for its Goose Island Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond package, created in collaboration with adm Indicia.
The annual competition recognizes outstanding achievements in paperboard packaging, including creativity, innovation, sustainability and technical excellence.
The award-winning package demonstrates how thoughtful paperboard engineering and premium print execution can transform a familiar format. Its cylindrical structure combines die cuts with foil, and an extended lid that reveals additional storytelling as the package is opened.
More than secondary packaging, the structure creates an ‘untubing’ experience that adds ceremony to the reveal of a heritage-driven spirit. The result demonstrates how structural innovation, craftsmanship and premium enhancements can work together to elevate shelf presence and consumer engagement.
